1. CAPACITY

Royal Group Technologies Limited is one of North America’s largest manufacturers of custom PVC profiles. With more than 20 state-of-the-art extrusion plants strategically situated throughout North America, Royal has the capacity and flexibility to service and supply large and small manufacturers. Commonality of extrusion machinery and compatible tooling throughout the group allows plants to support each other in times of peak capacity.

a. Chemicals:

Through its Reagens Comiel subsidiary, Royal produces key ingredients used in PVC formulation, including pigment systems, tin stabilizers, and lubricants. As well, Royal manufactures its own proprietary blend of PVC compound at a fully computerized facility in Toronto.

b. Machinery :

The Royal Machine Manufacturing subsidiary is the source of Royal’s downstream equipment, including saws, pullers, vacuum calibration systems and tables; co-extrusion machines used for dual, tri and capstock profiles; and specialty machinery for unique fabrication procedures. Royal Machine plays an important role as a resource centre for new techniques and ideas in PVC fabrication.

The Italian based AMUT subsidiary is a recognized leader in the design and manufacture of single and twin screw extrusion equipment and together with Ariostea, a leading plastics material handling company and Royal Machine, enable Royal to the develop the most sophisticated material handling and manufacturing systems in the plastics industry today. Royal has also utilized the talents of these subsidiaries in the development of unique dual strand extrusion technology.

c. Construction and Land Development:

Royal’s Jovien subsidiary is responsible for the construction of all of Royal’s manufacturing facilities. This in-house capability allows Royal to respond quickly to regional needs with the construction, expansion and modernization of manufacturing facilities throughout North America.

d. Tool and Die Systems:

Royal’s profile plants have in-house tool and die facilities, including sophisticated EDM and CNC machinery, allowing Royal to create new tooling and modify existing tooling as needed in record response time.

e. Research and Development:

The head office houses a unique team of creative plastics professionals who are involved on a daily basis in the creation of new concepts in plastics, innovation in machinery and experimentation with new exotic blends of composite materials. In the past few years, this team headed by Royal President and CEO, Vic DeZen, has been responsible for numerous proprietary and patented products and concepts, including the Royal Outdoor Shed, the Royal Building System, the Royal PVC Garage Door System, vinyl fencing and decking systems, compression molded products and cellular PVC profiles.

f. Injection Molding:

With two injection molding facilities, Royal is able to create complementary products to its line of extruded profiles. Unique products include the Royal Roofing System, which has the appearance of Spanish tiles and the durability of weatherable plastics and the Showplace line of injection molded brick, stone and shake exterior wall finishings. The Royal Injection facility manufactures a wide range of custom molded products for the building, appliance, and leisure industries.

Royal’s patented tooling technology in the area of die and calibration systems is renowned worldwide and has contributed to Royal’s rapid growth and expansion. This technology allows Royal to manufacture die and calibrator systems in as little as five weeks at a fraction of the cost of conventional systems. Royal has also developed unique plastics processing equipment in the area of multi-strand extrusion.

With over 20 profile extrusion plants situated throughout North America and with inventory programs that we have developed for large volume accounts, Royal is able to implement JIT programs that enable customers to benefit from a reduction of inventory on their floor. And with the emergence of customers with facilities on both coasts, Royal is able to strategically service those accounts from multiple plant locations.

Royal, as a result of its patented tooling technology and machine capacity, specializes in the design and production of custom profiles to meet specific customer and regional needs. Royal utilizes ROYAL 8007 compound, a formulation developed as a result of 25 years of data and experience in the manufacture of weatherable profile systems. This compound, with superb weathering performance, is formulated with Royal’s own stabilizing system, produced at its ultra modern chemical plant in Bradford, Ontario. The Royal 8007 formulation also uses significant concentrations of TiO2, thus ensuring UV inhibition and protection of the underlying polymer matrix.

Royal is committed to plant efficiency and quality production. Royal already has many manufacturing facilities which are ISO 9001 or 9002 registered. All profile plants have full time quality inspection procedures using computerized scanning devices that enable swift and accurate dimensional checks for all profiles.

Royal has established strict criteria for vinyl compounds. First, for the protection of employees, customer’s employees and the environment, no amount of lead or other heavy metal additive is acceptable or allowed. Second, the quality and quantity of the ingredients used in our formulation, must have a proven record of performance and must offer the best in color and property retention in the industry.
